AirTran Airways A+ Visa Signature Benefits
Benefits for the AirTran A+ Signature credit card include:
- 10 A+ rewards credits earned if purchases total at least $750 within the first 90-days the card is active on the fee based card. 2 A+ credits are earned on the first $250 in 90 days.
- 2 $50 discount certificates towards the purchase of AirTran Airways tickets. This is for the fee-based card only.
- Bonus credits are earned for balance transfers.
- Double credits are earned on AirTran tickets when using the Visa Signature credit card. It is one for one on the fee free card.
- 1 credit is earned for every dollar of non-air travel purchases with the fee-based card. 1 credit is earned for every $2 of purchases on the no-fee card.
AirTran Airways A+ Visa Signature Downside
- Fees are charged for balance transfers to the AirTran Airways A+ Visa Signature card.
- Credits expire in 2 years.
- The one-way ticket is actually a segment. If there are two take offs and landings to reach the destination, only half of the price is covered by the free one-way ticket.
- A+ Rewards seats are subject to blackout dates.
There are many terms and conditions for these cards. Although the APR’s of 15.24% and 18.24% are on the high end of average, there is nothing to distinguish the AirTran Airways A+ Visa Signature benefits from any other program. CitiBank, Bank of America and American Express all offer similar APR’s with better benefits and fewer conditions to use the points for upgrades and free tickets.
