This credit card was a non-revolving credit card. What this means is that users were required to pay off their balance in full every month, with the exception of travel purchases, which were automatically placed on a revolving credit plan.

American Express Senior Green Card Overview

This card was a rewards card that allowed you to earn one point for every $1 you spend on everything but American Express Travel, which earned you two points for every $1 that you spent. You were also able to shop at Earn Hub and earn up to ten points for every $1 that you spent.

Points for this card never expired and never maxed out. Points could be redeemed for travel, merchandise, gift cards and pretty much anything else you can imagine.

The annual fee for this card was $35 and there was a foreign transaction fee of 2.7%. Those who currently carry this card because they applied for it when it was still available will find that the late payment fees have changed in accordance with The Fair Credit Reporting Act.

American Express Senior Green Card vs. American Express Green Card

Compared to each other, these two cards are almost identical. One major difference is that the current Green card has an annual fee of $95 instead of $35. In addition, the Senior card allowed for five additional cards with no annual fee and the current Green card has a $30 fee for up to five additional cards.

American Express Senior Green Card Verdict

This card is no longer available; however, the American Express Green card is a viable alternative with almost identical terms. However, you should be aware that you must have exceptional credit to qualify for this card. In addition, American Express cancels your credit cards if your credit starts getting bad, even if you have an account in good standing.
