Ameriprise MasterCard Points
Ameriprise MasterCard holders earn a full point for every dollar they spend using the card. For the first 60 days, you earn double points. Ameriprise does not cap the number of points you can earn.
When you’re ready to redeem your points, you have a wide range of products and services from which to choose. You can earn free airline tickets without having a separate travel credit card, as the Ameriprise MasterCard lets you choose from airfare, cash back, and even dining or entertaining options. There is a rewards catalog available so you always know exactly how many points are required for a particular item.
Of course, Ameriprise also gives you the option to invest those rewards as well. They will even give you an additional 1% if you choose to channel the reward amount directly into another Ameriprise investment account. You can also choose a gift certificate towards an Ameriprise financial service, which increases the reward amount by 1.5%
Ameriprise MasterCard Details
The Ameriprise MasterCard has no annual fee, something becoming rarer than it used to be according to the New York Times. With the new laws regarding credit card rates and fees, many credit card issuers are reinstituting annual fees to recoup some of the revenue.
The Ameriprise MasterCard also offers a low introductory rate on balance transfers. For the first six months, a transfer will only cost 1.99%. Afterwards, it will cost you prime plus 7.99%. This is the same rate of interest for purchases as well.
If you book travel reservations using the Ameriprise MasterCard, you’ll receive many of the same benefits other Ameriprise credit card holders receive. This includes free rental car insurance and roadside assistance while you’re traveling.
The Master Assist program provides help in trip planning, but also if you need something like the name of a doctor or luggage replacement.
