The Visa Platinum credit card from Baxter Credit Union is a low interest credit card for people with very good to perfect credit. This is not a bad credit credit card. If you have any recent problems with your credit at all, you should not apply for this card.

This credit card is one of four Visa’s offered by Baxter, all of which are low interest credit cards. For people with slightly worse credit, Baxter also offers two MasterCard’s in which you might be interested.
Overview of the BCU Visa Platinum Credit Card
Frankly, there isn’t much to be said about this credit card. You do have to be a member of BCU in order to qualify for this card.
The Visa Platinum card offers emergency and travel assistance to the cardholder as well as fraud liability protection. You can purchase credit card protection that protects you against the debt on the card if you are disabled or you die.
You can design your own credit card when you choose this option. There are some restrictions on the design, such as no offensive images, (religious images and terms are included in the offensive materials) and you cannot use images that you don’t own the right to.
BCU Visa Platinum Credit Card Terms
Unlike many credit cards offered by other credit unions, this is not a no fee credit card. However, their fees are not outrageous and they will certainly not break the bank!
The terms for this card all comply with the credit card laws as stated by the Federal Reserve.
The terms include:
- 8.5% to 18.9% APR on purchases, cash advances and balance transfers
- Introductory APR on balance transfers of 6.9% for 18 months
- No penalty APR
- No annual fee
- $25 late payment, over the limit payment and returned payment fees
- Cash advance fee of $5 or 3%, whichever is more
- Foreign transaction fee of 1% of purchase total
Verdict on the BCU Visa Platinum Credit Card
If you don’t mind not having a rewards credit card, this card is an excellent choice. You do have to be a member of the BCU, however, in order to qualify. In addition, you cannot have bad credit or any recent credit problems on your credit report.
