The BayPort Credit Union Visa Classic credit card is a rewards credit card for people with good to excellent credit. It has a decent starting interest rate that is variable based on the prime rate.

While this card is not a bad credit credit card, it is a good choice for those of you with less than perfect credit who has maintained at least a year of no credit issues. You however, cannot have a judgment or a bankruptcy currently on your credit report to qualify.

Overview of the BayPort Credit Union Visa Classic Card

This rewards credit card offers you one point for each $1 that you spend. There are no caps on the points that you can earn and they do not expire. Points can be redeemed for merchandise and travel.

There is a 4.99% introductory APR for this card that lasts for six months. You do have to make your balance transfers within 30 days of card activation in order to qualify for this rate. Six months is the minimum amount of time a bank or credit card company can offer an introductory offer according to the Federal Reserve.

Benefits for this card include $250,000 travel insurance, rental car insurance, and discounts on merchandise when purchased through the BayPort system.

BayPort Credit Union Visa Classic Credit Card Terms

As with most of BayPort’s credit cards, the fees for this card are minimal. There is no annual fee, no penalty fee, no balance transfer fee and no cash advance fee. There is a minimal 1% foreign transaction fee, however.

The APR for this card is 12.99% to 17.49% depending on your credit score. There are also $25 fees for late payments, over the limit issues and returned payments.

This credit card offers many benefits and a great starting interest rate. The rewards program is a bit limited but it isn’t the worst out there either!
