California Bank and Trust Visa Platinum Lets You Pick Your Rewards

Reward cards typically follow one of two paths: either you receive a percentage of your total purchases back in cash or you accrue points with every purchase. Those points can then be redeemed for merchandise, airfare, or other items.

California Bank and Trust allows its Visa Platinum cardholders to decide which of the two systems they would prefer. If you choose the cash back option, California Bank and Trust will put 1% of your purchase total into an account as soon as you have $50 worth of rewards. You’ll receive rewards in $25 increments and must have a California Bank and Trust account to participate.

The AmaZing Rewards Program credits you with one point for every dollar you spend on the Visa Platinum. The points can then be turned in for a wide variety of items, from airfare and hotel stays to sports events. Prizes start as low as 2,000 points.

California Bank and Trust Visa Platinum Account Features

With the Platinum Visa from California Bank and Trust, you’ll have access to the concierge service, as well as the warranty manager. This service extends the manufacturer’s warranty for items bought with your Platinum Visa. Neither of these services is available on the Visa Classic. Platinum cardholders are also eligible for up to a million dollars in travel accident insurance.

The Platinum Visa also has a lower interest rate than the Visa Classic at prime plus 5%. The card itself has no annual fee. However, both reward plans have a $25 annual fee. The Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch warns consumers to determine if their rewards will be worth more than the annual fee before signing up for a credit card.
