This is a credit card transaction that takes place when a credit card is physically presented at the point of sale, as opposed to an online or over the phone credit card transaction. Merchants are charged fees by the credit card transaction processors, such as Visa, for credit card transactions depending on the level of risk. Card present transactions have a lower level of risk than online or phone credit card transactions.
