The Central Florida Educators FCU (CFEFCU) offers several credit cards for you to consider, one of which is the CFEFCU Platinum Visa Credit Card. This card is a low interest credit card designed for people with very good credit who tend to carry a balance on their card from month to month.

You must be a member of CFE in order to apply for this card and as the name suggests, this is a credit union designed for educators. However, family members of teachers, such as parents, spouse, siblings, children, and even nieces and nephews can become a CFE member.

CFEFCU Platinum Visa Credit Card Overview

All of the credit cards from CFE offer the same benefits. For example, they are all low interest credit cards; at least they are for people with very good to exceptional credit. In addition, they all offer a no annual fee benefit. You will also benefit from no fees for cash advances and balance transfers.

CFE also disallows foreign transactions using any personal credit cards unless you call them and inform them that you intend to make a foreign transaction. You must give them two weeks’ notice in order to make a foreign transaction. If you are planning to travel abroad, you will call and have the limitation removed and indicate how long you need foreign access.

CFEFCU Platinum Visa Credit Card Terms

The Platinum Visa credit card is the card from CFE with the lowest APR starting at 8.75%. For people with less than perfect credit the rate will be as high as 17.75%. The APR is the same for purchases, balance transfers and cash advances.

CFE does apply a penalty APR if you have two consecutive missed payments. The APR is 17.75% – 25%, depending upon your original APR. The penalty APR will be removed if you make six payments in a row, on time of course.

There is no balance transfer fee, no annual fee and no cash advance fee. There is a foreign transaction fee of 1% of the total purchase price for each foreign transaction.
