Circuit City is a now bankrupt electronics retailer that worked with Chase to issue store credit cards to qualifying customers. Although the Circuit City website was recently revived by Systemax, Circuit City credit cards can only be used with competing retailer Best Buy. In an agreement with Chase, old Circuit City credit cardholders may opt to pay off their previous balances or transition into a Best Buy credit card.

Under the old program, Circuit City credit card account holders were able to shop at physical Circuit City locations or online in order to gain rewards points. Although these points were set to expire after a few years, they were usually accumulated quickly. Now that Circuit City credit cards are slowly being phased out and Chase is no longer taking applications, Best Buy credits will be covered instead.
Best Buy Credit Card Terms
Best Buy is a former competitor of Circuit City, but their in-store credit cards and rewards programs are quite similar. Best Buy branded credit cards are backed by both Chase and HSBC Bank. Like many other in-store credit cards, the Best Buy line of instant approval credit cards has high interest rates. Through HSBC Bank, cardholders will pay either 27.99% or 25.24% interest on all financed purchases. HSBC Bank has an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The Best Buy Reward Zone MasterCard has a slighter lower interest rate; however, only applicants with very good credit scores will be approved. There is also a yearly fee that Best Buy Reward one MasterCard account holders have to pay, and it varies from $39 to $59.
Best Buy Credit Card Perks
Consumers that buy a lot of electronics often look forward to purchasing related accessories and peripherals. With the Best Buy credit card, all purchases convert into points.
These points can then be used to get Best Buy gift certificates or gift cards. Although there are some exclusions, Best Buy gift certificates can be used to pay for virtually every product and service offered by this electronics retailer.
