The credit utilization ratio is used to compare the amount of credit that is being used to eh amount that is available and is calculated by dividing the available balance by the credit limit. This ratio is used when calculating credit scores and is also known as the balance to limit ratio. Having a low ratio (a high amount of available credit and a low amount of debt) will have a positive effect on your credit score.
