Debit

A debit is the term for a charge to a customer’s bank card account. The card associated with a bank account is often called a debit card because it is used to withdraw money from the account, creating a debit to the account. Other ways of making a debit would be by writing a check, using an ATM for a withdrawal, or writing a check.
