    Diners Club was recently sold. The service quality has totally cratered. You must wait >20 minutes to speak to anyone. The website doesn’t work. The pay-by-phone is dismantled. If you try to call the website support desk, you get into the same 20 minute waiting queue to speak with an agent who does not know anything about the website.

    I have had this card for 20 years but no more…this is horrible, horrible service. (Typed while waiting 18 minutes and still no agent….)

    I completely agree with what Joe has spelled out in his review. I’ve had Diners since 1994 and was used to zero wait time for calls to be answered, a great rewards program and a simple but useful web site. Since the sale to BMO – Bank of Montreal – the service is horrible. I had a fraud occur on my card. They issued a new card which took 3 days to arrive (when Citi owned Diners, if a new card was needed, it was over night) Now that I have the new card I have been unable to view transactions online and unable to link the new card number or even set it up from scratch. 6 calls so far and no one has any ideas or any means to escalate the issue. Its really horrible. Online access to transactions and ability to pay online is basic. I’m locked in until I can redeem my points – but I can’t access those either. Once I do – I’m gone. Its no longer a premium product.

    I agree with Tim and Joe.
    Since the sale to BMO the card has become well below average in terms of service. The customer service representatives are poorly trained and hard to reach.
    Worse still, the website is horrendous. It has been optimized only for IE, and does not work at all on Chrome or Safari. An email complaint to customer service was at least honest on one question: “we have no plans to support the Apple platform at this time.” The preference for IE is really peculiar – this is not 1998.
    Once I figure out how to redeem my rewards points (I guess by logging on at a friend’s house), this twenty-year customer is gone.

    To all lucky enough not to have this card: STAY AWAY!

    I applied for a Diners Club Card and second card at a cost of £69 – predominantly for the free lounge access. I have recently received and bill with 3 charges for £15 for lounge access. 2 of which were for Biarritz where there was a small room with only Crisps and Tea bags and a coffee machine and a fridge with fizzy drinks. I would not have entered the lounge if I had known what the facilities were and that I would be charged. I checked pervious bills as this bill did state that lounges were being charged for and there was no mention. On ringing Diners Club they inform me that the web site – which has also changed – does state this and I agree it does. But Google Diners Club Airport Lounges still takes you to the original site where there is no mention of the new charges. Is this a good way to encourage custom or a way of drumming up income.
