You need to belong to the Eastman Credit Union to apply for the Visa Platinum Preferred credit card. To become a member, you must work, live, go to school or operate a business in the following Tennessee counties:
- Johnson
- Hamblen
- Carter
- Unicoi
In Virginia, you can live in the following counties:
- Russell
- Tazewell
- Wise
- Smythe
- Buchanan
If you do not live in these areas, you cannot apply.

The Platinum Preferred Visa credit card has no annual fee. The APR starts at 9.9% and is a fixed rate. This means that if the prime rate changes, your rate will not change.
It has no other fees with the exception of a late credit card payment fee. It is based on your total balance. Any balance over $300 will have a $25 late payment fee.

However, if you are not a member and don’t work or live in the areas mentioned above, you cannot apply for this credit card.
