Rewards offered by the FNB of Omaha Maximum Rewards Platinum Edition Visa

Cardholders who already carried a Visa Signature with Maximum Rewards from First National Bank of Omaha may still maintain their accounts, or may switch over to the Platinum Edition Visa. New applicants cannot apply for the Signature Visa.

The cards are very similar in many ways. The Maximum Rewards program is the same. You earn a point for every dollar you spend on purchases, not cash advances, or balance transfers, on the card. The points can then be redeemed for many different rewards, ranging from gift cards to merchants or airfare.

The Visa Signature did offer an initial bonus point amount on the first purchase, which the Platinum Edition does not offer.

Both cards offer the same travel accident insurance and rental car insurance to cardholders. The Zero Liability Protection from Visa is the same for both credit cards. Both cards double the manufacturer’s warranty and replace items damaged, lost, or stolen within 90 days of purchase.

FNB of Omaha Maximum Rewards Platinum Edition Visa Rates

The replacement Platinum Edition Visa with Maximum Rewards has a similar account structure. It has a zero percent introductory APR for the first year. Then the APR ranges from 13.99% to 19.99%. The exact rate within this range is determined on many factors at the time the introductory rate expires.

The Federal Reserve explains that these factors include not only your credit score, but also other factors like your income and even whether you have a history of making late credit card payments.

While there is no annual fee for this card, there are balance transfer fees and cash advance fees of 5%. If you are late paying a bill, you’ll be hit with a late payment fee of $35 and a penalty APR as high as 29.99%. The penalty APR can also go into effect if you spend more than your credit card limit or your payment is returned due to insufficient funds.
