Destiny Maternity Corporation and the FutureTrust Credit Card
Destiny Maternity Corporation is a designer and retailer specializing in maternity clothing. They have several specialty brands such as A Pea in the Pod, Motherhood, and Oh Baby which can be found in various retail stores such as Babies R Us and Kohl’s.
As a leader in maternity apparel, Destiny decided to look toward the future as well and provide the FutureTrust Credit Card so that pregnant moms could start saving for future education. However, as of March 1, 2010, they cancelled their participation in the FutureTrust MasterCard program.
FutureTrust Credit Card and the Waterfield Family
The Waterfield Family has been providing financial services since 1928. One of the current services they offer is the FutureTrust Checking Rewards program to help you save for your dependent’s college education. While not a rewards credit card, with the FutureTrust checking account, 1% of your balance gets automatically deposited into your 529 College Savings account on a monthly basis.
With this no monthly fee account, you are also given unlimited check transactions, an ATM/debit card, and the option of enrolling in Online Bill Pay. You will even earn a reimbursement of up to $6 every billing cycle for ATM fees.
The FutureTrust Credit Card Link to 529 College Savings
Whereas the FutureTrust Credit Card used to link to a 529 College Savings account, now the FutureTrust Checking Rewards links to that same account. A 529 College Savings account is a college savings plan that helps people automatically save for college with tax free dollars.
Since you are no longer able to get a FutureTrust Credit Card to help you save for your child’s college education, you may want to consider a FutureTrust Checking Rewards account instead. You can open an account with a minimum of $500 and start earning 1% right away.
