The JC Penney Credit Card is a department store card offered by GE Money Bank. While this is a JC Penney card, you can also use this card at all CVS Pharmacies and Rite Aid Pharmacies. You can also use your JC Penney card at any JC Penney store, outlet and online.
Department store cards are notorious for having high interest rates and the JC Penney card is no exception. The starting rate for the JC Penney credit card is 26.99% with a penalty rate of over 30%. Because of the high interest rates, you will find that it is easier to get a JC Penney card with a poor credit score than other types of credit cards. Compare other retail credit card offers now!
The benefits of choosing a JC Penney Credit Card over a traditional card are few. The rewards credit card program is based on a monthly spending cycle. You must spend $250 a month to receive a reward, which is $10 off any purchase; this reward can only be collected once a month. Clearance prices and sales do not count towards your rewards earnings and your rewards points expire monthly.
JC Penney Credit Card Benefits

- No annual fee
- People with bad credit may still qualify

Consider this Before Choosing the JC Penney Credit Card
GE Money Bank makes no secret about the fact that they will sell your information to other companies for marketing purposes and there is nothing that you can do about it once you apply for a card. What’s more, even if you don’t qualify, GE Bank is allowed to sell your information if they choose to.
What’s more, if you are late on a single payment, then GE Money Bank will close your JC Penney account. In addition, if your credit score drops, they reserve the right to close your account to prevent you from spending more than they think you can afford.
You cannot apply for the JC Penney card online, you must call or mail in your application.

We have a nice income and perfect credit, but we were only granted a few hundred dollar credit limit when we applied for the JCPenney credit card. Then the bank expects you to bend over backwards to get a little increase in your credit line, but they clearly don’t expect you to use what you get. If you place a JCP order that they deem “large,” then they don’t want to approve the order because it seems “suspicious.” This card has proven to be a wasted pop against our credit report. So not worth it. There are much better ways to get discounts on the internet. Anyway, the JCP merchandise has fallen cheap to imported merchandise, defects, and poor workmanship. We will shop elsewhere and ditch the JPC card! I would NEVER let a balance go unpaid fully in one month, as the rates and fees are ridiculous. Customer service stinks, and rewards are low. Overall, a zero.
