KeyBank is one of the nation’s top 20 retail banks with operations in 14 states. Their KeyBank Platinum credit card is one of four personal MasterCard products offered. The other three are the Select Rewards Platinum, College Rewards, and Young Adult cards.
All four cards come with standard features like purchase protection, zero liability fraud protection, 24-hour customer service, nationwide ATM access, and the ability to tie the account to an existing KeyBank checking or savings account. A point based rewards credit card program is also available, but only on the Select Rewards Platinum and College Rewards cards.
The KeyBank website provides links for applications to all four cards, or you can apply at a local branch. The online link redirects applicants to a third-party website that hosts the secure application process. Applicants must be of legal age and may apply for either a single or joint account. KeyBank Platinum Credit Card Rates and Fees
Although certainly not the lowest in the industry, the KeyBank Platinum APR is still an attractive and modest 9.99% to 20.99%. The APR for cash advance credit card use is also slightly lower than average at 23.99%. For the first six billing cycles, approved applicants enjoy a 0% introductory APR on retail purchases and balance transfers. The only hitch is that the special rate when used as balance transfer credit cards applies only to such transfers requested at the time of application.
All rates and fees for the Select Rewards Platinum are identical. Rates and fees for the College Rewards and Young Adult cards are slightly higher and depend on credit history and performance.
KeyBank Platinum Credit Card – Select Rewards Platinum Points Program
Platinum points are earned at a rate of one point for every dollar in net retail purchases. Balance transfers and cash advances do not qualify for points. Furthermore, points are only awarded to the primary card holder, and only if the account remains open and current at the end of the month in which retail purchases are made.
Points can be redeemed by either the primary card holder or authorized secondary card holders on the account. Points are redeemed for cash back, merchandise, and gift certificates. They can also be used for round-trip airfare, but not until a minimum of 25,000 has been accumulated. Compare this with other credit card rates now!
