If you shop at Kohls a lot (like I do), this card is the best thing ever. I have earned the MVC card so literally every time I go there to shop I have a coupon for at least 15% off my purchase. And it is good on EVERYTHING. No crazy long list of exclusions like coupons to some places.

The key is that you have to pay if off completely every month, otherwise you will have to pay a high interest rate. Be financially responsible, people! Don’t buy things you can’t afford!! Since there is no annual fee, and I have not paid a cent in interest, this card has saved me tons of money!

The only reason I get it 4 stars instead of 5 is because if you make a payment at the store, you can only use cash or check, not even a debit card. But you can pay with a debit card online, which is what I do. I also wish it would let you set up a recurring payment (like my Target card) where every month the balance is automatically deducted from my checking account. Then there would be absolutely no way I would ever incur a late or penalty fee.

Bottom line: you get TONS of discounts with this card. But, since the interest rate is high, you must pay it off each month you use it. A great card for someone who is financially responsible.

Awful card. High Interest rate, the website for payment hardly ever works and they will call and stalk you the day after your payment is due if you accidentally miss it.

I am a little disappointed that you no longer put the itemized list of purchases on the bill. All that is there is the total amount due.

Not a bad card, but my bill was sent to me via email (rather than mail as I wished) and was routed to my span box by Yahoo. Long story short, I missed paying the bill for three months, $76 turned to $120 or so, and my credit score was adversely affected. Make sure you get a paper bill, not an email bill.

This is the WORST card ever!! As soon as my balance is paid off, I am closing my account. I will also never step foot in a Kohls store again. I opened my credit card almost a year ago. I declined the Credit Protection program (12.00 a month extra). I do not go theough my bill swith a fine tooth comb because I know what I have spent. I never go over my limit and I never pay late. I saw on my last 2 bills that I have had an additional $11.99 charge in addition to my interest. I called Customer Service and they told me I signed up for the protection program. I said I DECLINED it when I signed up for the card. They then told me they had been charging me since the first billing and that they wouldn’t refund me for more then the past 2 months. They said that they sent me letters….BS. and that I should be reading my statement every month to insure all of the charges were correct. It was my fault because I did something wrong. I guess I never thought that a credit card would intentionally rip off it’s customer. i have a couple of other cards and have never had an issue with them. I guess I learned my lesson. I am now Anti-Kohls!

I opened a Kohls card to obtain a discount – its the worst move I could have made this year!! They havent sent me a bill even though I’ve called and emailed them repeatedly to PLEASE send it to me; they keep saying “its in the mail”. I have never had to BEG a company to send me a bill before!!! I havent gotten the card yet either and have no idea my account number.

Long story short, I got a call today that I’m late paying and they’re going
to add on all these fees! I reminded them my call and email history (which I kept), this apparently means nothing to them! They refuse to give my account number over the phone so I can go to the store and pay it off. They state they will send me another bill – what happened to the other ones?!?!? Their tone is that its my fault they couldnt send the bill even though I’ve been in contact with them BEGGING since the beginning.
    Horrible customer service!!!

A Kohls credit card is not worth the risk of losing your good credit score.

For many credit card reviewers, online payment is a hit and miss affair, with potential to push you into a late payment. My experience is seeing a negative ding on my otherwise perfect credit report a few weeks after a missed (forgotten) payment for a grand total of $15.

Kohls processes are flawed. Their email statements go straight into Spam. Their efforts to call me comprised a mysterious caller ID and a robot – the kind of thing you tell your kids not to answer. By the time they wrote, it was too late.

The help desk person was courteous – he removed the late payment penalty, and forwarded my request for the credit report to be amended. Unfortunately, Kohls’ written response was a lecture in the importance of credit card reporting.

On YouTube, Kohls claims a cozy relationship with the credit reporting agencies. You would think that if this were true they would check the credit status of late payers before damaging their credit history.

Taken together – faulty IT processes and a trigger happy response to late payments, a Kohls Credit Card is too risky.

BLUE collar thieves. They are ripping card holders off. Stealing their money and ruining peoples credit. Customer service reps are $8.00 hr flunkies and is costing Kohls lots of customers to shop else where so in turn are they not only ripping off customers they are ripping of the Kohls corp. I will never shop there again and i will make a lifetime effort to telling everyone i speak to know my feelings. I wish I could leave a –5 star I would they dont need to be in the customer business.

This is a great card if you are using it wisely…don’t spend money you don’t have. I have never had an issue with online payments. My statement goes directly to my inbox. I also check my statement online to verify purchases, and have never had an issue. Yes, the interest rate is a higher than most other cards, but if you are paying your bill, you will have no issues. I have also never had an issue with the above posters “$8 an hour flunkies”. The custormer service reps have always been patient and polite. Whenever I have had a return, it is hassle free. As a bonus, I get other coupons that “normal” people don’t get. Stack those coupons with other coupons and their kohls cash, and you can get some great buys. I purchased a dyson vacuum that was on sale for $349 (in line with prices elsewhewere). I used a 30% off coupon, plus stacked a regular 15% coupon with it. With my $10 coupon from my newspaper, and $30 kohls cash, I paid a whopping $198 (tax included). I would never have paid that anywhere else. Long story short, pay your bills on time, buy what you can afford, and you will enjoy it

Kohls says I was late on my payment. I never received a statement via email. They couldve mailed a statement to me but they let it go another month and charged more late charges, Ended up paying $140 for a $77 purchase. I called Kohls and they did waive one of the late fees but would not waive the report to the credit bureau. Now I have a lower score because of this stupid mistake. I cut up my Kohls card and will NEVER EVER shop there again because of this. It was an honest mistake on my part and I couldve paid off the balance very easily at any time.

After paying my card statement in full over the phone I was charged late fees and was never sent a statement regarding these fees, which later accrued more interest. It is the second time this has happened, and since I seldom use this card, I didn’t find out I “owed” them any money until the collection agency called me to pay $60. I’m more than happy to pay if I do owe them money, that has never been a problem, but I’m not happy to pay for a scam. Their outrageous APR and penalties are pretty much a ploy to “legally” raise their revenue.

Throughout the years I have been very careful with my credit score, but Kohl’s happens to be the one entity that has managed to hurt it in my adult life. Ultimately their rewards are just not worth your credit score. My advice to you: cancel your card altogether, and just go to a mall next time, they probably have better quality anyway.

When you apply for the card in store you get a temporary card on receipt paper. You can also do an account lookup at any register to get the temporary card at a later date. All you need is your social and an id for verification.

You can use this temp number to set up an account online and view/pay your bills. I have my bank account linked there, but usually just pay in store. I have never had any issues with the site besides having to answer my security questions multiple times on the mobile version before the login would process.

And to my knowledge that credit protection service no longer exists. There is not a prompt for it on the screens. It probably went away during the card-servicer
