Late Payment Fee

Being charged a late payment fee means your payment arrived after the deadline. The individual will be charged for this transgression. In addition to a one-time late payment fee, the overall interest rate can rise substantially. In addition, the FICO scores of the late payers could take a hit and be lowered. This will raise interest rates on loans on other credit cards which were always paid on time.
