When a bank customer has two or more accounts at the same bank with one being a checking account, they have the option to create a linked transfer account. With linked accounts, any insufficient funds transactions will be automatically transferred from the linked account to the checking account. The account that the checking account is linked to can be any other type of account that the bank offers, including savings accounts and credit card accounts.
