While a Louisiana State University credit card sounds like a great idea, especially for students and faculty currently at LSU, you will find that there are no options for you. The only LSU credit card available is for alumni, there is no student credit card. While it is a great card, it isn’t for everyone.
The Louisiana State University credit card is called the LSU Alumni Association Platinum Plus MasterCard with WorldPoints offered by Bank of America. In order to qualify for the Louisiana State University Credit Card, you will have to have excellent to good credit. Again, this is another reason that this isn’t a card for everyone, but it will provide you with a great APR if you have excellent credit.
Louisiana State University Credit Card Overview
This rewards credit card pays you one reward point for every $1 you spend using your LSU credit card. Using the WorldPoints reward program, you can purchase merchandise, gift cards, get cash or travel when you cash in your points. The points expire after 5 years but there is no limit as to how many points you can accrue.
There is a 0% APR for 7 to 10 months depending on your credit score. The regular interest rate after the introductory period will be 12.99% to 20.99%. There is no penalty APR!

While this is an excellent credit credit card, like most cards from Bank of America are, it is limited in use as you must be former LSU graduate in order to qualify for the card. In addition, if you don’t have good to excellent credit, you won’t qualify.
You can apply for the LSU Tigers card if you aren’t an alumni (anyone can apply), but the same credit standards apply.
