While Bank of America is a nationally known bank and credit card company, they have been taking a hit lately based on poor decisions about the fees they charge to their customers. When it comes to their credit card ratings, JDPower.com conducted a survey of their current customers and their overall rating was below average.
McNeese State University MasterCard Overview
This MasterCard, while not being a bad credit credit card, is designed to help students get credit. However, this is not a standard student credit card as students will have to have some credit in order to qualify for this card.
This is a rewards card that allows you to earn one point for every $1 that you spend using your card. You can redeem your points on the WorldPoints website for virtually any type of goods or travel you can imagine.
There is no cap on how many points that you can earn with your card. However, points will expire after five years of non-use, so you need to keep that in mind.
McNeese State University MasterCard Terms
This card offers a 0% introductory APR for 12 months for purchases. The APR for purchases and balance transfers will be 12.99% to 20.99% based on your credit score.
Bank of America charges a penalty APR of 29.99%, which will apply for the duration of your card ownership should you miss a payment or should a payment method be rejected.
The APR for cash advances is 20.99% unless you use your card for a bank cash advance at which time you will pay an APR of 24.99%.
The transaction fees for purchase of wire transfers, balance transfers, and cash advances will be $10 or 4% of the purchase total, whichever amount is greater.
There is no annual fee for this card!
McNeese State University MasterCard Verdict
While this isn’t a bad card overall, you do need to consider the fees associated with this card. As a student, if you miss a payment or your payment method bounces, then you will be stuck with an exceptionally high interest rate until you close that account.
