Medical Identity Theft

Medical identity theft occurs when an individual uses another individuals personal information to receive medical care. Sometimes it is the result of an uninsured individual using the insurance information of someone who has health insurance. Medical identity theft occurs both with and without the knowledge of the individual whose information is being used.
