As M&I makes the transition to becoming part of the Harris Bank system, the Visa Commercial credit card has been phased out and replaced with a corporate credit card from MasterCard.

M&I and BMO Corporate MasterCard

BMO offers a corporate MasterCard credit card that is ideal for large businesses, which usually have between $5 million and $100 million in revenue each year.

This card combines the benefits of a fleet card with the convenience of a card for purchases or travel and entertainment. The card will also accrue airline miles, either individually for each card or collectively for the business, combining the miles from all its cards.

Because of the unique partnership between BMO and Harris Bank, the card is designed specifically to work seamlessly in both the United States and Canada. The BMO Corporate MasterCard also provides authorization controls and daily online data collection, which allows even large corporations to keep control of spending.

M&I Bank Visa Business Cards

If your business isn’t quite large enough to qualify for the BMO corporate business credit card, two business cards are also offered by M&I Bank. The basic card has no annual fee, but provides travel and emergency assistance, as well as insurance for your car rentals and special prices at hotels.

The second card has all these same benefits, as well as a rewards program. Purchases earn you points that can be redeemed for travel or merchandise and gift cards. There is a $49 annual fee for M&I’s business rewards card.

Both credit cards come with the business name on the card. Either way you go, building your company’s credit is an important step in making it a viable business for the long term, says Inc.com in its article on “How to Build and Maintain Good Business Credit.”
