Since 1986 Bank of America has been supplying the NYU Alumni Association with the New York University NYU credit cards. NYU chose Bank of America to provide their Alumni Association credit cards because they liked Bank of America’s reputation and willingness to donate a portion of every purchase made on the card to the Alumni Association.
The donation made to the Alumni Association isn’t a large one, about 1/4 of 1%, but that can add up quickly when thousands of people are making purchases. Because you don’t have to be a member of the Alumni Association to apply for the New York University affinity credit card, the Alumni Association can benefit even more from a larger user base. You have the option of choosing between three cards that represent the New York University Alumni Association. One is a MasterCard, one is a Visa and one is an American Express. The terms for each card are exactly the same and all are rewards cards with WorldPoints redemption options.
