Nordstrom offers four different cards: the Nordstrom Retail card, a Nordstrom Debit card, a Nordstrom Visa Check card, and the Visa Signature card. Some of these can only be used at Nordstrom, unlike the Visa Signature card.
Nordstrom Visa Fashion Rewards
The Nordstrom Visa Signature card is part of the Nordstrom Fashion Rewards program.
When you use the Visa Signature card to purchase items at Nordstrom stores online, you’ll receive two points per dollar.
For purchases anywhere else, you’ll receive one point for each dollar. At special times in the year, there will be promotions where you can earn even more points.
Alternately, you can choose some travel rewards. With this option, you’ll receive a reward point and one travel unit for each dollar you spend at Nordstrom. Other purchases earn one travel unit per dollar.
Each time you reach 2,000 reward points, Nordstrom will send you a $20 credit good for purchases at Nordstrom stores.
The Nordstrom FSB Signature Credit Card Is Still a Visa
The Nordstrom Visa Signature card is a full-fledged Visa credit card, with all of the benefits that a Visa card offers. You can enroll the card in the Verified by Visa program to protect your account when using it online. You’ll also have access to the credit card concierge service and preferred access at Signature events. The Visa Signature Hotel network provides discounts when you book your stay with the Signature card.
The Nordstrom Visa Signature card has a four-tiered interest rate platform. Depending on your credit history, you’ll be paying 10.9%, 14.9%, 18.9%, or 22.9% APR on Nordstrom purchases. The rate for other purchases is higher, ranging from 14.9% to 22.9%, with a penalty APR of 27.9%
These high rates are one of the reasons that MSN Money suggests not signing up for store credit cards. Additionally, the rewards and benefits are often better on cards from independent sources.
