Like many colleges and universities across the country, Ohio State University at one time offered a credit card benefiting its alumni association. The Ohio State University credit card was a WorldPoints MasterCard offered through Bank of America. This affinity credit card resulted in donations to the Ohio State University Alumni Association based on every approved application and the value of all the transactions charged to the card.

The card was basic black with the red and silver Ohio State logo featured prominently on the left side. A silver Bank of America logo and the standard MasterCard WorldPoints logos were also featured on the card.
Ohio State University Credit Card Rates and Terms
With the discontinuation of the Ohio State University credit card specific details on rates and terms is sketchy. What is known is that a 12-month introductory rate of 0% applied to balance transfer credit card transactions. The standard APR was very reasonable at 9.9% to 15.99%. No other information regarding terms and conditions is currently available.
Ohio State University Credit Card – MasterCard and WorldPoints Benefits
All WorldPoints credit cards offered by Bank of America are eligible for certain benefits, and the Ohio State credit card was no exception. WorldPoints were awarded at a rate of one point per dollar in retail purchases. Redemption could begin at 2,500 points for cash back credit card rewards, car rental, travel benefits, gift certificates, merchandise, and access to Ohio State sporting events and other unique experiences.
There was no limit on the number of points a card holder could earn; points expired five years from the date of issue.
Other benefits of the Ohio State University credit card included standard MasterCard offerings such as zero liability fraud protection, MasterCard’s MyConcierge service, and 24 hour customer service. MasterCard also provided purchase replacement coverage, extended purchase warranty service through its Purchase Guard program, automatic auto rental coverage, and travel accident insurance.
