Prime Borrower

A prime borrower has a very good credit score. Before a credit card company will issue a new credit card to a user, they will check their prior credit ratings and payment histories with credit reporting services.

When these credit checks come back to show that the person has a very good history of paying their bills on time, they are called a prime borrower by the credit card services.
