Redlining is a term banks put around neighborhoods and areas considered places where the people are poor credit risks. If residing in a redlining district the chances of being offered credit or credit cards decreases as the rates if they are offered at all will be higher. This is based on the banks’ statistics and studies of risk in the area they are redlining.
