Reference Number

What is a Reference Number on my monthly Credit Card Statement? A Reference number is a number that corresponds to every monetary transaction on your billing statement. Think of it as a name for each and every transaction you make.

Each reference number is specific to each transaction. For example, if you have question about a transaction on your credit card statement, when you called your credit card company, they would request the reference number of the transaction you are referring to.

The reference number is just a way to insure that you and your credit card company are looking at the same thing.
