Sales Draft

A sales draft is a piece of paper that records the amount of money spent at the time of a cardholders purchase. This amount can be sent electronically to the card issuer via phone lines so that the issuer can keep the data on file in order to keep track of all of the cardholders financial transactions.

The cardholder is required to sign the sales draft at the time of the purchase so the amount spent and the signature of the cardholder are both captured at the time of the sale.
