Credit unions have a different structure than banks, though they offer many of the same services. Banks are businesses that are there to earn profits. Since credit unions are non-profits, they are owned by the members. The accounts are called shares. As a result, credit unions offer their member-owners as low a rate as possible–usually much lower than bank rates.

SEFCU Visa Capital Credit Card Intro Offers

The SEFCU Visa Capital card offers new cardholders a special introductory offer. For a full year after opening your account, you’ll receive a fixed APR of 9.9%. After the introductory period expires, the APR will revert to the standard rate of 14.9%.

This rate is higher than most credit union rates and is higher than SEFCU’s other variable-rate cards.

This no-annual fee credit card can have up to a $25,000 credit limit. Visa checks and cash withdrawals from ATMs are also available if you need them. There’s also the added convenience of having your credit card from the same institution at which you bank, allowing you to set up automatic payments from either your SEFCU savings or checking account.

SEFCU Visa Credit Card Options

In addition to the fixed-rate Visa Capital card, SEFCU also offers a variable-rate Visa Gold card. Its APR is 8.25% after the six-month introductory period, during which the interest rate is 6.9%. It also does not have an annual fee. For those who need help rebuilding bad credit, SEFCU also offers two secured credit cards. You must be a member of SEFCU in order to apply for any of these credit cards.
