A smart card is a card that contains a microprocessing chip in it. Sometimes known as a chip card, these cards enable the user to be able to perform multiple transactions that can require specific data that is stored on the chip.
A smart credit card looks exactly like any other credit or debit card, but it performs far beyond the average card. The biggest advantage over a smart card is the security that it offers. Unlike a regular credit card with the data-holding magnetic strip on the back of it that can easily be damaged or misread, the smart card, with it’s computer chip, is much more durable and more secure.
