Soft Pull

A soft pull, or soft pull credit check, refers to a credit check that typically has no adverse affect on a person’s credit report.

When a person receives third party solicitation, whether electronically or paper, such as pre-approved credit offers, it is likely that the institution that issued the offer did a soft pull credit check. In most cases, a person is not even aware that a soft pull has been done on their credit report.
