Buyer beware, read ALL the fine print, and jump through every hoop carefully to gain your rewards with this card. I had a great deal of trouble trying to cancel my card after the first year, after I paid off the balance well within the guidelines and wrote and spoke to the company numerous times, all prior to their deadlines. The status is still unresolved and they have sent my case to a collection department to try to collect their annual fee and late charges.

PEOPLE BE AWARE!!There reward miles is a joke you have to book 180 days in advance to get the flight for free! thats something they dont tell you cause there is a fee to travel if you try to use your miles! i tried to book a flight a week out and it would have cost me a 100.00 to do so using my free miles! what a freaking joke im going to cancel this card cause its cheaper to book a flight a week in advance than it is to use the bonus miles!!!

SPIRIT REWARDS PROGRAM SUCKS BIG TIME
They advertise all over the place that Spirit Mastercard holders can fly for 2500 miles each way on an off-peak award. They put an off peak calendar on their site, but don’t think they will let you fly for that few of miles. The only way they give it to you is if they have many seats available close to the departure date. So, if you are fortunate enough to book 6 months in advance and save the booking fee, you will most likely be charged the maximum miles fee. They are complete scammers. I hope someone will do something about it. I am extremely disappointed with these bait-and-switch clowns.

I agree with everything written above. I have 23000+ miles but there is not a chance in hell that I can use them. We just made the mistake, too, of flying to Costa Rica on Spirit and the delays and lack of customer service made me wish I had paid United or Taca. I am in the process of canceling this card and have asked my family to commit me if they hear I have booked another Spirit flight.
