Tabling used to be frequent at colleges until the new regulations in the CARD Act of 2009 outlawed certain student credit card marketing practices like tabling. Tabling is when credit card companies set up tables at campuses and try to lure students in to open up a new line of credit. They may give out promotional items or offer free prizes for signing up. There may be many different companies at one location all with their own tables.
