The card features the T.J. Maxx logo against a red graphic background. It also bears the logos of MasterCard, Chase, and T.J. Maxx affiliates A.J. Wright, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. At time of application consumers may apply for a second card at no extra cost and up to three balance transfer credit card transactions from MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover accounts. Consumers will be required to furnish personal information, including income, for all cardholders.
T.J. Maxx Credit Card Interest Rates and Fees
The APR for purchases and balance transfers on the T.J. Maxx credit card ranges from 12.24% to 19.24% based on creditworthiness at the time of application. For cash advances the APR is slightly higher at 19.24%. Although a penalty rate of 23.99% is assessed for late, missed, or returned payments, this penalty rate is slightly lower than industry average. If assessed, the penalty rate will be reduced to standard rates if the consumer makes six consecutive payments on time.
The fee structure for various transactions and penalties is as follows: $5 or 3% for balance transfer credit card transactions; $10 or 3% for cash advances; 3% for foreign transactions; $35 for late payments and exceeding credit limit; $29 for returned payments.
T.J. Maxx Credit Card Rewards Program and Other Benefits
Cardholders accumulate reward credit card points at a rate of 5 per dollar spent when the card is used at T.J. Maxx or its affiliated stores. For purchases at all other locations, one point is earned for every dollar spent. With the accumulation of 1,000 points, cardholders automatically receive a $10 T.J. Maxx gift certificate. Chase advertises other exclusive card holder benefits, although they do not specify what those benefits are.
It is assumed that since the T.J. Maxx credit card is a MasterCard product, standard benefits such as 24/7 customer service, online account access, ATM access, and others apply.
