Truwest Credit Union VISA Platinum Qualifications
The first thing you’ll need to know is that Truwest offers two platinum credit cards. The first platinum credit card is for people who have an established credit history that ranges from good to perfect. The other platinum credit card is for people who have no credit history. Neither of these credit cards is for people who have bad credit.
If you have established credit history, even if you have some bumps on your credit report, then you may qualify for the Truwest VISA Platinum Points credit card. This is a rewards credit card that offers one point for every dollar that you spend on everyday purchases. You can then cash in these points for merchandise and travel.
If you don’t have established credit history then you may qualify for the VISA Platinum standard credit card.
You cannot have bumpy credit or bad credit; this credit card is best for college students or young adults who have little or no credit history.
Truwest Credit Union VISA Platinum Terms
The terms for both of these credit cards are the same. The only difference between the two is the APR that you’re going to pay. The fee structure is in total compliance with the Federal Reserve.
The APR for the VISA Platinum Points credit card starts at 8.9% and maxes out at 17.5%. For the VISA Platinum standard credit card, the APR is 21% regardless of what your credit score might be.
Truwest Credit Union VISA Platinum Bottom Line
The maximum 17.5% interest rate for the Platinum Points credit card is good–especially considering this is a rewards credit card. However, 21% interest for a credit card for someone with no credit is too high. By comparing credit cards online, you’ll find that there are plenty of other companies that offer lower interest to people who are building credit.
