The Iowa Rewards program awards card holders separate points to be redeemed for activities and events related to the University. Examples of redemption include a chance to sit in the radio broadcast booth during a Hawkeye football game, a worn game jersey, and UI Bucks vouchers worth up to $75 which can be spent in university stores or participating businesses in Iowa City.

Interest rates for the University of Iowa credit card are more or less in line with industry average, including the standard APR of 12.99% to 20.99% for all purchases and balance transfer credit card transactions. The APR for cash advances is 24.24% and there is no penalty APR. New applicants are given a 12-month introductory offer of 0% interest on standard purchases.
