US Airways Dividend Miles Select Reward Program Details

Here are some of the details of the US Airways Dividend Miles reward program:

  • 12,500 bonus miles with first use of card
  • 12,500 bonus miles after spending $750 with the card in the first 90 days

  • Earn double miles for all US Airways purchases
  • Receive a 5,000 miles reward discount in certain redemption scenarios (i.e. if you have 25,000 US Airways miles and go to redeem your miles you will be able to use the full 25,000 but only have 20,000 miles deducted from your account instead of the full 25,000)

Types of US Airways Credit Card Offers

It is worth noting that there are two types of US Airways World MasterCards:

  • US Airways World MasterCard
  • US Airways Premier World MasterCard with Dividend Miles Select

The main difference between the two cards is that the regular World MasterCard has a $49 annual fee and a max bonus miles capability of 20,000 miles while the Dividend Miles Select US Airways Credit Card has a max bonus miles capability of 35,000 miles, an $89 annual fee, and some additional benefits like first class check-in and Zone 2 boarding.

    If you have a USAir Barclaycard cancel it. They are trying to charge you a late fee of $20 for their slow payment processing.

    I hate this card. I absolutely hate it. Worst customer service ever.
    They say they will waive the annual fee. They won’t. They charge it. You’ll call and ask if you can get that money restated faxing in proof that they said they’d waive. You’ll get your money back….7 months later and after calling them every month. This happened to both me and my wife two years in a row.
    Then, they’ll just close your account unexpectadely without verifiying that with you and you’ll be unable to reopen it. They just closed it – probably because I was always saying, “this is the worst credit card I’ve ever had”.
    I hate this card – its the bane of my existence.

    US Airways is absolutely THE worst airline my company has ever used. An employee missed a critical meeting not so much because of a cancelled flight, but because US Airways promised to place him on a partner airline’s subsequent flight, but never actually did. They led us to believe he was taken care of when they knew he was not. We could have booked a flight on Delta, we had confirmed that they had plenty of seats available, but didn’t because US Airways assured us that they had done so, that he was booked on that very flight. But when it came time to check in, our employee and 20 other passengers who were told the same thing by US Airways, in fact had not been booked to the Delta flight. Ultimately, after having him spend the night at an airport hotel (at our expense), we sent him home and cancelled the meeting, affecting dozens of people’s schedules and delaying one of our company’s major projects. Flights get cancelled, but it was US Airways’ incompetent handling of the situation and dishonest lip service that kept us from solving the problem ourselves. I won’t put our company and our employees in that position again. We will not fly US Airways under any circumstance. Even if another carrier is twice the price, it will be a much greater value to us.

    We signed up in September 2010 on a flight to the Caribbean and stopped using all our other cards to accrue as many points as possible within the next 12 months so we could at least get one round-trip ticket with points. The deceptive advertising included earning enough points on the flight we were on to get a free round-trip for the same flight. Yeah, right. Ten months later, we still don’t have enough points. With 25,000 points, assuming all the Dividend Miles seats aren’t already sold out, you can buy the round-trip ticket. In every month except September, our chosen route required 60,000 points. Unless you travel and purchase extensively, this card is not worth it, particularly with its $89 annual fee. Any issues regarding the card must be answered by Barclays Bank. USAirways staff only sells the card on its flights; however, it offers absolutely no service and will not intervene if there is an issue with deceptive advertising or customer service.

    Worse card every, very high fees, high interest, Plus although they give 1 mile for each dollar on balance transfer, they charge you 3%, thats right 3% for the balance transfer fee. It is probably buried in the small print, but not mentioned on the application, where you request the transfer.

    Please dont touch it this card is toxic

    I’ve never had any major problems with the card, and I haven’t used my miles yet so I don’t know if they will be difficult to use.

    However, I have to agree with one of the other comments … they cancelled my card suddenly (without notice). Said it was because I hadn’t used the card. I checked my records, and it had been about 11 months of non-use. Does that warrant auto-cancellation?

    Worst card ever! Bate and Switch tactics were used on us to get us to apply while in flight. The promise of a free ticket was confirmed when we called in the spring of 2011 and then when we went to book it in October, somehow they just didn’t know what we were talking about. The cost of tickets for the buy one get one for $99 deal is really high and with the card having an annual fee, it seems to me that ANYONE could get a better deal on any travel site. STAY AWAY FROM US AIRWAYS MASTERCARD, THE COMPANY IS UNETHICAL AND TAKES ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE.

    I signed up on the plane. My FICO is 741, but yet I qualified for 24% interest rate. It also states if I make a late payment, this will increase to 30%.
    The annual fee is $88. Sounds high. I tried to log on to the system several times, but keep getting locked out, and need to try again after 24 hrs. Im disappointed, and think Im going to cancel for a cheaper card. One mistake with them sounds tooo costly, hence not worth the dividend miles at the end of the day.

    Stay away from this card!!! 1 Mile per Dollar spent, interest rates that I consider stealing and $90 annual fee. I was never really happy with this but had no idea how bad that was until I started comparing with other airline credit cards. One time they waived the annual fee as I was asking them to rethink their interest rates or close my account. The second time they told me they would waive it but then charged me anyway. I’m traveling a lot outside the US and wasted hundreds of Dollars for foreign transaction fees. What a rip-off!! Every time I called customer service they tried to sell me some additional rubbish I wouldn’t need anyway. $99 companion ticket is a joke! I never used it because I found cheaper airfares online for where I was going with my family. I’m glad I finally did the right thing and closed the account.

    The same thing happened to my husband and me that happened to Jack Stone and D.S. On a July 7, 2011 flight to Providenciales, the flight attendant said that applying, paying the annual fee, and paying for at least 1 purchase with the card would give us a trip to Providenciales, and as a SPECIAL promotion, if we turned in our application on that flight, we would get enough miles for a trip to Hawaii. We got 30,000 miles, and after complaining twice, all I got was a repetition of their standard program (no SPECIAL promotion acknowledgement) although I did get a comment that alot of people were telling the Customer Service Center the same thing I was. It looks like this is a long-term strategy with US Airways to induce people to apply in-flight by promising things they have no intention to deliver. I don’t like dealing with businesses like that and I am not going to use this card; probably not the miles, either.

    I got the promo on a flight to Aruba. The attendants also represented that I could use the miles for a round trip to Aruba (35,000 miles). I started using the card and paid the $89 annual fee. Unfortunately I didn’t check this site for your comments before I did so. I have gone out of my way to fly US. Air Florida using the card rather than Southwest… I willn’t make that mistake again.

    Now I am going to stop charging on it…wait my 12 months and use whatever benefits I get…also I will use other carriers to fly rather than U.S. Air because of these apparent unethical practices.

    The thing that ruins this card is the customer service. They were all foreign and I could never communicate well with them and always had to get a supervisor on the line just to communicate a basic request. But, the card did have some good points: The zone 2 board is always nice. But if you are already a member of Dividend miles you get it anyway. Using the first class ticketing/security lanes was another benefit. The companion passes are not very useful but I did use the annual club pass. The miles rack up nicely especially if you put every eligible purchase on this card including groceries, gas, bills, etc. Double miles on USAir purchases. I had a 7.9% interest rate and they offer convenience checks from time to time which allow you to cut a small loan to yourself that goes right on to the card with no extra fees, at your interest rate. I used these a few times. Overall, I would have kept this card had it not been for the customer service (and the $90 annual fee). I have heard they’ve gone away from the overseas customer service? Can anyone confirm?

    I don’t think I have ever been so frustrated with the non action of a company. I signed up for this card with a promotional offer which included a $99.00 companion ticket Feb. 2012, it is now May 9, 2012 and after approx, 7 phone calls, I still have not received the ticket! I keep getting an apology with no conviencing reason as to why we have not receive our welcome package with the companion ticket. Don’t sign up for this card if you are expecting a welcome package or a companion ticket because you will never receive it! I will use my card to get perferred check in, as this will appears to be the only perk it offers. If you want a good travel credit card Capital One has a no hassle reward program and they don’t any charge foreign tranaction fees (which really add up)
