VantageScore was created by the three major credit reporting agencies Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. It was designed as a competitor for the FICO score created by Fair Isaac.
VantageScore is similar to FICO in that it is a three digit number, and higher numbers mean a better credit rating and less risk to the lender. VantageScore will range in number from 501 to 990.
