I agree. The Chase Freedom Card is one of the better cash back cards in my opinion.

I also think that the BOA credit cards are usually pretty light on the rewards and what is even more interesting is that the BOA credit card division has lost money hand over fist for the last 5 quarters in a row (which is why they have been raising fees and interest rates on some cards apparently): http://www.creditcardchaser.com/boas-credit-card-business-is-losing-money-yet-still-catching-flak/

Thanks for the comment!

I love my Chase Freedom credit card because of the 1% – 3% cashback, PLUS the $50 bonus they give me whenever my rewards dollars reaches $200. This year my rewards dollars alone funded my summer vacation! Sweet!

I hate Bank of America credit cards because they hike up interest rates to rediculous amounts even though there never was a late payment on the account.

From what I could find online I believe that you are correct in saying that Washington Mutual / Chase bought out Providian National Bank. Thanks for the comment!

I love my Charles Schwab Visa card because it gives me cashback, and comes from a firm that gives me excellent service. This card gives value, just as Charles Schwab does.

I hate Providian National Bank, which has since been bought out by (I think) WaMu/Chase - which makes me shun them - because it was their modus operandi to sue customers who do not accept illegal collection calls, and use the lowest of the low agencies that linger indefinitely in their illegal harassment tactics.

I just LOVE my Sears and (former) Advanta credit cards! Their cool, casual introduction of interest rates that display a level of usury that would have impressed even my dear Uncle Tony and his "associates" has finally cured me of my addiction to credit and carrying a balance. Sure, once I've paid down my existing balances, I may go back to credit cards that offer incentives & rewards ...but learning the valuable lesson of "living a cash life" is truly priceless!
